This Is What Makes Garland Lodge & Golf Resort Stand Out
Once you arrive at Garland Lodge & Golf Resort, your tee shots are the only drives you’ll make the entire time you’re there. That’s because everything at the resort – the five […]
It’s a perpetual dilemma: Play golf or catch the game. Garland Lodge & Golf Resort has you covered either way!
In addition to four unique 18-hole golf courses plus a 10-hole short course that just opened in 2025, Garland has a bar and grill full of widescreen TVs perfect for watching football, baseball, basketball, golf and other big sporting events.
And did you know Garland also has an outdoor Tiki Bar with patio seating and fire pits? A halfway house where you can grab a bite and beverage reinforcements for the back 9 of your round? A gorgeous dining room with a stone fireplace and log cabin walls?
That’s right! Garland has four distinctive food venues to go along with four (now five!) golf courses! Whether you want to have a few beers while the big game is on or a relaxing dinner after a day of outdoor fun, Garland has what you’re looking for.
Here’s a quick overview of food options you’ll find around the resort:
Antler’s Bar and Grill right inside the Main Lodge near the Golf Shop serves up Garland’s delicious seasonal menu in a space that sports a relaxed, rustic vibe. TVs and taxidermy cover the wooden beam walls and an antler-ringed chandelier hangs from the ceiling. There’s a full bar with a variety of microbrews and cocktails available. Antler’s is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Located just outside the Main Lodge on an expansive patio, Garland’s Tiki Bar is a great spot for lunch – and maybe a cocktail or two – before or after golf. There’s seating both at the giant covered bar and at tables situated all over the scenic brick-paver terrace. Fire pits add to the atmosphere and give off some heat on cooler northern Michigan evenings.
When you’re out on the golf course, the Divots Comfort Station at Garland is where you can refuel with a variety of quick bites such as hot dogs, brats, sandwiches and snacks as well as a tasty selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The halfway house is located partway through the Monarch, Reflections and Swampfire courses.
Back at the Main Lodge, the Tamarack dining room at Garland features farm-fresh local produce and house-made sauces to accent a menu that changes seasonally. White tablecloths pair with a large stone fireplace to create an “Up North” ambiance that’s just right for a nice dinner while sharing a bottle of wine. Tamarack is open for breakfast and dinner during the prime golf season.
Garland’s four food venues are open throughout the golf season, from May into the middle of October. Then, after taking a break through the end of the year, both Antler’s and Tamarack reopen for breakfast, lunch and dinner on weekends and holidays from New Year’s Eve through February for a winter experience at the resort.
Winter fun at Garland includes traditional outdoor recreation such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sleigh rides and ice fishing as well as some new twists such as ice bowling, ice badminton and ice putting! Of course, winter also brings bonfires, bowls of piping hot soup and a full menu of food and drink highlighted by Mick’s Famous Fish, a celebrated selection during the resort’s Trout Camp weekends.
