The resort is about 5 miles south of the town of Lewiston.
Getting to Garland is an easy day trip from most of the Mid-West. We are located southeast of Gaylord in Lewiston, Michigan.
Typical driving times are:
3 hours from Lansing
3 ½ hours from Detroit
3 hours from Grand Rapids
From Grand Rapids: Take US-131 North to Cadillac, and then turn right (East) onto M-55. Follow M-55 to US-27 (30 miles). Take US-27 North to I-75 North. Follow I-75 North to exit 254. After exiting, turn right at the first light onto M-72 East. Follow M-72 to Luzerne (23 miles). Turn left (North) at the blinking caution light onto County Road 489 (also known as Deeter Rd. & Red Oak Rd.) (14 miles). The entrance to Garland will be on the right-hand side.
From Detroit: Take I-75 North to exit 202, Alger/Mio. Then bear right on M-33 North to Mio (36 miles). Turn left in Mio at the stop-light onto M-72 West. Follow M-72 to Luzerne (8 miles). Turn right (North) at the blinking caution light onto County Road 489 (also known as Deeter Rd. & Red Oak Road) (14 miles). The entrance to Garland will be on the right-hand side.
From Lansing: Follow M-27/US 127 North to I-75 North. Follow I-75 North to exit 254, Grayling. After exiting, turn right at the first light onto M-72 East. Follow M-72 to Luzerne (23 miles). Turn left (North) at the blinking caution light onto County Road 489 (14 miles). The entrance to Garland will be on the right-hand side.
From the Upper Peninsula: Follow I-75 South to exit 282, Gaylord. Head East on M-32 until you come to County Road 491. Turn right (South) on County Road 491 and continue on until you come to the 4-way stop sign. Go straight through the stop sign (County Road 489), travel 5 miles South. The entrance to Garland will be on the left-hand side.
